If you want to break through as an emerging artist, building momentum on the live circuit is key. Yet, it's not always so easy to get those great, packed-out, game-changing shows as an independent band or solo artist. Not unless you have an agent.

By focusing so much on booking shows for the bands I played in, I eventually became an agent. But before I did, exactly how agents operated was a mystery to me. 

What did they do differently? How did the artists they represented get all the amazing shows that my bands could only dream of playing? Was it a type scenario?
